Update as of February, 21 2026
Dear friends, given the current situation with trade and tariffs, I am sure many of you are wondering what would happen if you order from our shop in Canada. The situation is evolving and complex but let me give you the quick facts for the next few days and weeks.
Here is the latest update as of Feb 22. We will continue to work with our shipping partners to try to understand what this means for you and for the products you buy from us. If you are in the United States, please contact us before ordering so we can work out the best solution.
After the U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled that many of the broad tariffs imposed under emergency economic powers were unlawful, the administration quickly shifted to use other legal authorities (notably Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974) to impose a temporary 10 % global tariff on most imports, with plans to extend or adjust rates through separate investigations and statutory tools. Some tariffs on key sectors — especially steel, aluminum, and autos — remain in force, and Trump has signaled intentions to raise the global tariff baseline (with discussions of bumping it to 15 %) and pursue new levies via national-security and unfair-trade statutes. Meanwhile, specific country rates (such as on China and India) remain elevated under reciprocal frameworks, and legal and economic uncertainty persists as courts and businesses grapple with the fallout from the tariff rulings.
We therefore urge you to contact us before ordering so we can work with you to get the best rate possible on shipping and determine how to deal with the tariffs. Please call 1 (514) 927-7713 or drop us an email at info@windforce.ca
