ITS CHARACTER

The AC-1 LTD is available in two distinctive constructions, each created to satisfy a different form of racing hunger. The Stitched version delivers battle-proven stability, durability and confidence across the widest range of conditions. The Q-Bond version is seamless, lighter in swing weight by 30% and brutally direct, built for explosive acceleration and surgical precision. In Italy, racing is not simply a sport. It is art, engineering, obsession and domination. Italy has created some of the world’s most desirable racing machines on the road. Point-7 brings that same Italian blood to the water.

THE 'POWER SIDE'

The deepest part of the profile, located on the leeward side. Measured as depth (how “fat” the sail is) and position (how far forward or back it sits). Draft generates the power/lift of the sail.The AC-1 LTD doesn’t just carry a locked-in profile, but the deepest profile on the market to give the easiest and fastest. The deepest point sits exactly where you stand, driving straight through your arms and harness. The stance it creates is balanced, rock-solid, and ready to squeeze every knot of speed out of the board. The power is always there. You don’t fight this sail.

THE 'FAST SIDE'

The aerodynamic shape of the sail. It includes the windward side (flatter). When we say “the sail profile”, we mean the general curve the sailcloth and battens create. The AC-1 LTD holds a wide, stretched draft that keeps the sail crisp and breathing free. The board rises and rails in every condition, turning raw speed and acceleration into second nature, no matter what the wind. In your hands, the sail vanishes, leaving only lift, glide, and the course ahead. The feeling? The board screams across any surface, and you’re already lining up the next jibe.

WHAT'S NEW

The new AC-1 LTD is the result of over 20 precise construction updates, developed over more than two years and applied across both the Stitched and Q-Bond versions. Panel overlaps used to integrate the batten pockets have been reduced. Reinforcement areas have been redesigned, minimized or replaced with stronger, lighter materials. Every gram has been questioned. Every structural detail has been refined.
Created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Point-7, this is not a cosmetic update. It is a cleaner, lighter and stronger AC-1. The evolution of the construction alone takes the sail’s performance to a higher level.
The new mast sleeve profile is wider above the boom, generating greater forward drive and a more powerful pull out of every jibe. Below the boom, it becomes narrower to reduce weight and deliver cleaner, lighter and more stable handling. The increased lift allows the rider to transfer body weight into the fin more efficiently, reducing the muscular effort needed to generate pressure. Acceleration becomes faster, speed comes more naturally and the rider stays locked in for longer. With more power held in the profile, the upper section has been given greater release. The new twist opening allows the leech to open more freely and progressively. The sail breathes through the gusts, releases excess pressure and continues accelerating instead of loading up. Approach the AC-1 LTD and feel the rush, scared and excited all at once. The thrill multiplies tenfold when you launch this deep-drafted, terrifyingly fast PWA World Champion race sail. Total Black, with flawless Italian racing design, the sail looks as dangerous as it feels. 7 battens deliver the power, but Point-7 did not stop there. We pushed the boundaries further with a 3-cam setup.

ON WATER
Leaving the beach, the AC-1 LTD feels light in your hands, like a high-performance machine waiting to be unleashed. Open the throttle, shift into sixth gear and prepare to fly. Why? Downforce. Softness. Stability. The AC-1 LTD drives the board to perfect hoover over any surface, eliminating unwanted nose lift from lively slalom boards, or sticky sensations. It does not simply charge through chop and swell. It flies over them.This sail is insanely powerful, yet surprisingly easy to control. The power remains locked forward in the profile, keeping the back hand light and effortless. Engage the turbo and the acceleration becomes ferocious.All that force keeps the hull pinned down, placing the rider in complete control of the thumping V12 waiting at their fingertips.Entering the jibe feels smooth and effortless, thanks to the light rear profile. Then comes the boost. Flip the sail and the power drives you immediately out of the turn.The 3-cam setup rotates lightly and smoothly, keeping the sail balanced and ready to accelerate again.

RIG SETTING

The AC-1 LTD demands precision in its rigging. Start by inserting the mast on top of the cams. After pulling the downhaul to 15cm of the final setting, you have two options: either pop the cams on first, then adjust the downhaul and place the boom, or apply full downhaul first, pop the cams in, and finish by putting on the boom. You’ll find detailed instructions and videos in the support section on our website for more guidance.

Adjust the outhaul to either boost power or dial in more control. Tighten the lower two battens and the top batten, but for the rest, just remove wrinkles without overtightening.

Once you flip the sail, the 3-cam system delivers an effortlessly smooth and light rotation—perfect for quick transitions without losing that explosive power.

ORIGIN

The fastest sail in slalom racing, the AC-1 is named after Andrea Cucchi, combining his initials and sail number. As the founder of Point-7, head of development, and team manager, Cucchi had a vision to create a group of young professionals who could push boundaries together under the banner of the “BLACK TEAM.”
