THE 'POWER SIDE'

Leeward side: deep, power curve- draft.

The deepest part of the profile, located on the leeward side. Measured as depth (how “fat” the sail is) and position (how far forward or back it sits). Draft generates the power/lift of the sail. The SALT PRO keeps its profile compact, vanishing in your hands the moment you hit the wave thanks to its on/off Dacron panel. It drives hard and precise through the bottom turn, then instantly neutralizes as you hit the lip: its natural S-shaping making cutbacks easy, powerful, and forgiving. Instant reaction is guaranteed, with the X-Ply panel behind the Dacron luff delivering direct feedback to place the board exactly where you want it. The widest Dacron point and deepest profile sit just above the boom, creating perfect drive through the bottom turn and a forward, explosive pull in rotation. The sensation is simple: total connection to the wave.

THE 'FAST SIDE'

Windward side: flatter, low-pressure side.

The overall aerodynamic shape of the sail, seen in cross-section. It includes the windward side (flatter) and the leeward side (curved). When we say “the sail profile”, we mean the general curve the sailcloth and battens create.

 

The SALT PRO keeps its draft shallow to be a fast wave sail to have speed to vanish in your hands the moment you hit the wave to jump. Aligned with the opening of the leach and S-shaping. It keeps a wave board over the water to hover over chop and have more control while searching for the ramp. Speed is everything in waves also when it comes to high jumps and radical rotations.
